In All My Years Of Credit Card Debt Negotiation...

(I'm Reynaldo Estrada, Rey for short. I'm a Credit Card Debt Detective, and I've been assigned to a credit card debt negotiation more times than I can even count. Here is an example of how it usually goes down in the trenches).

REY (DETECTIVE): Manuel. We meet again.

MANUEL (CREDITOR): Such as it is, Reynaldo.

REY: Call me Rey. And I am here to talk about my client, Marisol. Her credit card debt is outrageous and your company keeps tacking on fees that you know she cannot pay. I know there is a thing called business, Manny, but there is also a thing known as compassion. If you think that-

MANUEL: Reynaldo, call me Manny. And let's not pull any punches here. If Marisol wanted credit card debt relief she would have sought it long before now instead of applying for card after card. I am not moved by your pity party here. This is a business and yes, she entered into a contract with us. In business, if her end is not held up, I am supposed to make credit card debt reduction happen for her just because you come in here and beg me to?

REY: That's not what I am saying.

MANUEL: It is exactly what you are saying. And I am not buying it. If this is what you call credit card debt negotiation, Mr. Estrada, you can help yourself to a nice strong cup of reality and show yourself to the door.

REY: Manny, I will level with you. These credit card debt negotiations are what I do for a living. It's not like I am out to screw you over here. All I want is for the situation to be resolved peacefully so that both parties can benefit and we can all move on with our lives.

MANUEL: What are you proposing.

REY: Thorough credit card debt negotiation plan, run by me.

MANUEL: How do I know you aren't full of s--t.

REY: Because I am prepared to put my reputation on it.

MANUEL: Interesting. Well, if you feel that strongly about this credit card debt negotiation and are willing to assume the debt that Ms. Marisol has accrued, then so be it. But remember, Reynaldo, I do not play games.

REY: I am well aware, Manuel.

MANUEL: Good, sir. And good day, sir.
